2012 Malaysia KBS Dragon Boat Kayak Rowing Carnival Notice

2012 Karnival Sukan Air Hari Belia KBSM

Kementerian Belia dan Sukan Malaysia, or short-form KBSM, the government ministry are organizing this year 2012 biggest sporting carnival event in Malaysia beside the annual Inter-University Games (MASUM) . Scheduled to be held from 24 – 27 May 2012 at Putrajaya world-class Precint 6 Watersports Complex. There are 6 watersports related events organizing here, conducted by both MASCA (National Association of Kayak and Canoeing Malaysia)  and PERDAMA (National Rowing Federation).

This 2012 version offered the biggest prize money in the history of water-sports event in Malaysia, totaling RM 55,150 ! Get register with the related body by following the forms & details . The 2012 Malaysia Sukan MASUM Inter-University Games – Rowing and Kayak Championship is back !

Held from 11-15 April 2012 at the beautifully landscaped man-made Putrajaya Lake, at Precint 6, the championship will see the best of the nation universities rowing and kayak crew.  Some of the notable teams are from UTM, UTHM, UiTM, UIAM, UTEM, UUM, USM, UM, UNIZA, UPSI, UPNM, UNITEN, UNIMAS, UMS, POLITEKNIK, etc. Last year 2011 overall champion in rowing, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) and champion in kayak, Universiti Teknologi Mara Malaysia (UiTM) will be looking to defend their title from the onslaught from the many crews.

Categories to be race in Rowing: Men and Women, Coxless Four (4-), Coxed Four (4+) and Coxed Eight (8+), all distance in 1000m

Categories to be race in Kayak: Men and Women, Sprint K1 & K2, Touring, TK1 & TK2, distance in 500m & 1000m.

The championship schedule can be download below. Heats will be held on Thursday & Friday (12-4-2012), Repecharge on Friday & Saturday, All Finals will be held on Sunday Morning.
